The Lohmeyers - Missionary Family
Bill and Nicole Lohmeyer serve the Lord as LCMS missionaries in the Dominican Republic. In his role as a career missionary, Bill finds ways to make mercy ministry projects, such as a group home for disabled children, financially self-sufficient through the creation of local micro-businesses. He trains workers for these mercy projects and micro-businesses and works with local church plants to create long-term sustainability plans. Nicole is serving as a GEO (globally engaged in outreach) missionary. She works with the students and staff at Concordia Lutheran School. Her work involves curriculum development and planning, teacher training and student mentoring.
Bill and Nicole were both raised in Pennsylvania and met at Penn State, where Bill earned degrees in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Management, and Nicole graduated with a Secondary Education Degree. After moving to North Carolina, Bill worked 12 years at IBM as an engineer and Project Manager, while Nicole held various teaching positions in public, Christian, and home schools. Kiersten and Karissa were born in North Carolina and, like their parents, are very excited to serve in the mission field. Bill exclaims, "We are truly excited to find this opportunity to serve the Lord and those in need in the Dominican Republic!" Nicole adds, "It's been amazing to see how God has allowed everything to fall into place to make our missionary service possible." Kiersten and Karissa are looking forward to teaching English to their new classmates as they learn Spanish themselves.
Please pray for the Lohmeyer family and their successful adjustment to a new language and culture in the Dominican Republic and that God would bless them with good health.
